Everyone Should Have a Blog
Let’s get this out there first, this doesn’t contain any links to hosting services that I haven’t used in order to get a kickback, or why you should buy my WordPress or blogging book. I’m not going to tell you how to create a blog this has more to do with why I think everyone that makes or learns a thing should have a blog.
I’ve created one to record what I do in terms of projects and learning new things. I feel that it’s very hard to work out where I currently am in my journey if I don’t know where I’ve come from. So my blog documents my mistakes as well as my wins on my journey to make myself the best me. I believe that I learn best from my mistakes and the wrong turns that I make, and sometimes decisions that seem like mistakes can sometimes lead to wins further down the line, or open another avenue to investigate.
My second reason is that if anyone ever stumbles upon my blog, the powers that be have indexed it, and appeared in some search results. They may be having an issue that I was having, which by some planetary alignment I managed to solve. This information might be of use to someone else, or help them out somehow and that means so much to me, which makes it all worth it in the end.
My final reason is that I’m not very good at writing, which you’ve probably worked out by now. Also with my job there isn’t much writing involved either. So I thought how can I force myself to possibly write more, as I’ve always been told that doing something more, usually helps you become more proficient in said task. So in that sense, this blog post is an experiment on trying to improve my writing skills.
So that’s rather brief but those are my reasons, and I honestly feel that they’re good enough reasons for anyone to have a blog, as they are only ever beneficial.
